Count the drawer
Count the drawer against expected cash and send the run for review. You cannot press Close today.
Who uses this
The cashier, at the end of the shift, after the last sale. The owner can also prepare when they cover the till or work alone.
What you need first
- You are assigned to this shop
Steps
1. Prepare the close
Open More, then Daily Close. If asked to count cash, read Expected cash. Type that amount only if the drawer holds it. Save, check variance, then send for review. Saving the cash count feeds this close. It does not close the shop.
Do not press Close today. That is the owner or manager after review.
What done looks like
- Expected cash matches today’s cash sales, plus or minus real cash movements.
- If the drawer holds the expected amount, variance is zero.
Common mistakes
- Do not type a guessed count to hide a variance.
- Do not start a second close for the same shop and date.
